Risley Hall was built in [insert date here]. Risley governs itself according to a charter created in 1970.

It is a multi-function building that includes:
- Dormitory
- Theater
- Dining Hall
- Bathroom (what should I say if I need to go to the shithole)
- Meeting spaces
- Cafe
- Metal shop
- Darkroom
- Musical practice rooms
- Music Studio
- Laundry
- Government (called Kommittee)
[edit] Geography
Different parts of the building are named according to a regular scheme:
- Second or Third Lost, in the east wing.
- Virgin's Corridor (VC), in the east wing, once only for female residents.
- Monks' Corridor, the first floor of the northeast wing, once only for male residents.
- Third or Fourth and a Half, above Great Hall, the west wing.
A Risley Lexicon Special rooms include:
- CLR (Central Living Room), in the center of the building on the first floor. Used for meetings and waiting for food deliveries.
- Cowcliffes, east of CLR. A smaller meeting room, with a piano (the doughnut machine, mmmm doughnuts).
- TV Room, west of CLR.
- Eschervator, at the east end of the main hall. An electric elevator with windows on all sides.
- Great Hall, the dining hall.
- Guest Suites, suites of rooms for visiting (per semester) artists, who act as mentors for Risleyites.
- Tammany Hall, the cafe, between dining and the RHD suite.
- RHD suite, where the director of the building lives.
- Theatre.
- Tower, the rooms on the fifth through seventh floors.
